If you are one of the many women each year that begins a search for tubal reversal clinics due to changing your mind about your sterilization procedure, you should read through the below for help in determining which will be best for you. Whether you want another child due to some unforeseen change of mind or simply for relief from post tubal syndrome (PTS), you will want to be sure you go to the best clinic and doctor for your circumstances.

Probably the first thing you want to consider in tubal reversal clinics is whether or not doing tubal ligation reversal surgeries is the only thing done there. After all, if given a choice, do you want to go to a clinic where that is all they do? Or do you want to go to one where they do in vitro fertilization (IVF), vasectomy reversals and who knows what else? Kind of dilutes the experience of the staff, doesn’t it? Not only that. I think you will find that the staff just might try to persuade you to the more expensive, yet less successful, IVF. The clinic will simply make more money with that procedure than a tubal reversal because the success rate of each cycle is only about 30% and costs much more than a reversal surgery.

Next thing to consider will be the certification of the clinic. Who has it been accredited by? Has it been licensed by the state in which it resides? And will the clinic proudly proclaim this information where it is easy for you to see?

What is the reputation of the clinic? Do they have a reputation for answering questions and providing excellent patient care both before and after surgery? Can you talk to other patients to find out how they feel about the treatment they received?

Now check out the reputation of the surgeon who will be doing the surgery. What kind does he have with other doctors and most especially with his patients? What is his training and educational background? Who trained him? What type of surgery does he perform? Is it one that is going to have you laid up for weeks or out and about within a couple days? Do you feel secure asking him questions?

Next you should take a look at the success rates for the individual tubal reversal clinic you are looking at. They do keep records on their patients, don’t they? Are those statistics available where you can review them? What factors do they consider in the records they keep? Can you learn your chances, with this clinic, depending upon your tube length, ligation procedure, your age, etc.?

Maybe the last thing to consider is the cost of a procedure from the tubal reversal clinics. With the price tag varying from a few thousand up to and over $25,000, cost can be an important factor. But you do need to be sure that all the above are addressed as well. You just cannot make your decision based on cost alone.

Take all the above and search out which of the tubal reversal clinics will be the right one for you. Each of us have different criteria and different needs. These factors just give you a basis for making your decision. Good luck in your choice.
